The school summer holidays saw the Bristol team run two weeks of Get Sported camp at the new venue of Oasis academy, Hengrove inbetween the 3rd – 17th August 09. The Camp was packed with various sports including football, cricket, tennis, swimming and much more and saw over 60 young lives engaged with and reached with the good news through an excellent programme and curriculum.

Members of WSM Bristol travelled through to serve and assist the new WSM Newham team with their first outreach event (The Newham Community Fives) on Saturday 26th September. Eight Under 16 teams plus coaches, spectators and parents were reached with the gospel message through an enjoyable event in great weather! WSM Bristol were able to take along and give away 26 Sports Bibles to young men desiring to know more about Jesus.
National Football Festival Partnership – August 22-23
WSM Bristol partnered with Ambassadors In Sport to help host and reach over 300 men with the gospel of Jesus in Keynsham, Bristol. Sides entered from all over the country and were treated to a great weekend of football, faith and Fry’s!
From Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th June 09, WSM Bristol and Bath partnered with Sports Force to help host the first National Christian Cricket Festival in Keynsham near Bristol. It was a great event with 8 teams balanced with Christians and not yet believers; many of these 6 a side matches produced some good cricket and many did not!! WSM Director Grant Sheppard was interviewed and able to give his testimony and challenge everyone about knowing Jesus.
