National Christian Cricket Festival

The NCCF 2010 promised to be another good weekend with beautiful weather. On Saturday 8 teams gathered from across the country take part for the festival cup. Bristol & Bath had four teams representing the south west, but reigning champions Roehampton were looking to hold on to their title. The 8 teams split into 2 groups, with each team playing 3 games in the morning. During the lunch break Akeel gave his testimony with many non Christian players listening in. After Lunch there were the Knockout stages.  Already meeting earlier in the group stages, the final had Roehampton Vs All Nation Church facing each other. In a close match Roehampton were unable to keep their title and All Nation Church lifted the winner’s Trophy. Overall it was a really great day, with over 80 players taking part.
On Sunday teams from Molesey, St Thomas-Sheffield & Roehampton took part in another jam packed day of cricket. With one team not turning up, the format of the day changed to make four teams playing shorter games. Other than a short period of rain, we were blessed with good weather and managed to have 6 games, each team playing 3 matches. Thanks to all the teams that helped the event run so smoothly and look forward to seeing you next year!
