‘Kick Off’ Tournament – July

‘Kick Off’ July is next Thursday 29th July, 6.30pm at Ralph Allen School Bath.

This is the 2nd of WSM Bath’s monthly outreach football tournament for 16+ men. Churches with friends will be entering 5 a side teams and it should be a great night with football, fun and faith. The question is: Who will be July Champions??

Summer Camps Ready To Go!

Get Sported Summer Camps begin next week with workers and volunteers from WSM Bath, Bristol and local partnering churches trained, equipped and ready to serve.

The camps will involve great fun, fantastic sports coaching in a variety of sports such as football, cricket, basketball, rugby, baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, swimming and other activities such as dance, arts and crafts, water games and performing arts through a theatre company partnership. Above all, there will be great character development with weekly curriculums and daily themes for the children to grow from God’s Word.

There is still space for children between the ages of 5 and 12 to attend on all camps which are listed below:

Mon 26- Fri 30th July – Get Sported Bath and Get Sported South Bristol

Mon 2- Fri 6th August – Get Sported Frome and Get Sported North Bristol

Mon 9-Fri 13th August – Get Sported Bath and Get Sported South Bristol

Mon 16 – Fri 20th August – Get Sported Frome and Get Sported Bath

WSM Kenya trains new leaders

WSM Kenya travelled to Bungeria in Western Kenya to train new leaders and satisfy a growing thirst for sports ministry empowernment in this part of the country. Leaders from 100 different churches attended the vision and training weekend from 16-18th July, 2010.

WSM Umoja launched in Kenya

Leaders from WSM in Nairobi have launched another Community Sports Team in Umoja. This is an exciting opportunity with various churches very keen to partner and volunteers open to be trained on how to minister and reach out using sport in the community.

To start with, 30 Taekwondo coaches have been reached with 3 committing their lives to Jesus; this outreach and discipleship programme continues weekly through Taekwondo.

Kenyan World Cup Outreach

During the Fifa World Cup in South Africa, WSM Kenya staged football day and match screening outreaches in and around Nairobi. Football day outreaches reaches reached many and saw lots of people choose to receive Jesus as Lord in the Umoja, Buruburu, Kamchangi and Kasarani areas.

Games were screened in homes and at 6 churches including the final between Spain and Holland at Faith Homes church where 7 people said Yes to Jesus after a testimony was shared and opportunity given.
