World Sports Ministries and New Generation Music are Christian charities with a passion to see young people realising their full potential. For this week they are working in partnership with Christ Church Downend, and Downend Baptist Church. Our Sports and Creative Arts teams are committed to providing fun, challenging and safe activity programmes for young people, and include qualified professionals and trained local volunteers, all of whom have been CRB checked. Young people will need to bring suitable clothing and footwear for both indoor and outdoor activities. They will also need packed lunch and a drink. All who attend the More than Gold Activity week will be invited to a BBQ and evening performance at Downend School with NGM’s Release Street Dance Crew on Thursday 26th July at 7pm
More than Gold – 23rd – 26th July. Registration 9.45am each day Price for 1 child £25 for 4 days, siblings pay just £20 for 4 days.

June was a rather rainy affair – and the Euro screenings proved a strong competitor! We were able to have a good kick around with the gents who played and enjoyed an extra hearty pub grub social afterwards!! Next tourney is on July 5th, 7pm, Ralph Allen School, £4pp. Come and join us for a game, or even better, register a team!
Rain didn’t dappen the ladies spirits’ either as they too did business on the Netball courts! Our players then came together with the Kick Off lads in the pub to swap stories of endurance, determination, and sogginess! Next Netball Night is on July 5th, 7pm, Ralph Allen School, £4pp. Come and join us for a aerobics, skills and game – or even better, register a team!
