December’s Kick Off saw our veterans mixing with the next generation of footy stars – and high energy play resulted! Congrats to Sam who was unanimously voted Player of the Tournament. The last Teen Kick Off of the 2011 season saw 20 lads form 4 teams for a round robin league. A great atmosphere was created through music and other team support from the balcony and stands – plus siblings and parents cheering on their sides!

With around 8 new players this time, it was interesting to see some man-marking enter the game. Each team having their own manager/coach is creating a large fun element with some unique encouragement and tactic-talking going on. Congrats to the winning team ‘The Brodie Boys’ and man of match Matt.

It’s never too late in the year for ice cream and the quiz/team talk explored our Walks of Life – about half the lads attending were unchurched and we were able to have some great discussions. A really encouraging and enjoyable night – bring on next year!!

November’s Kick Off produced a high standard of footy both out field and in goal. Congratulations to Rob for his Man of the Match award, scoring a cracker in the 3rd-4th play off! Team discussion focused on abuse and cheating within the game of football and how the attendees could be the difference and make their stand on the pitch. November’s Netball Night featured our most aerobic and challenging skill session yet – coach Nadia stretching the ladies and teaching them new tricks! Teenage leaders from Frome and Bristol gathered in Bath for a day of training, discipleship and mentoring. Using the biblical example of David we delivered 4 quality sessions of experiential learning – think catapults and sling shots and a real life Goliath!! As we focused on Character, Faith, Skills and Mission we witnessed the Young Leaders being impacted and gaining new understanding – one in particular as he committed his life to Jesus.

We look forward to continuing our work with the Young Leaders in 2012 … in the mean time, see you at Teen Kick-Off!!
