In October a couple of the Bristol team took a very full car to the Easter Compton car boot sale. We managed to raise an amazing  £108 for WSM Bristol. It was a fun experience and despite the windy weather we were pleasantly surprised at how well our items sold.

Then in November we took another loaded car on a Saturday to the Bristol Fruit Market. We raised a staggering £97.  We also came home triumphant with a Samba goal which will come in handy at our GET Sported camps.  We managed to haggle it down to £25 from £40, it even has a rugby attachment!

We are grateful for the support we have had from family and friends and it is with huge thanks to our generous providers who donated everything we sold. We are planning to carry over items to our next car boot sale in January and would be keen to hear from you if you have anything that you would like to part company with. Praise God for an amazing experience and lessons learned.

The summer GET Sported Camps were amazing!! We were fully booked at 100 children per day for Camp B and were able to extend our capacity from 80 to 100 place for Camp C to meet the demand. Praise God for answering prayer for more coaches and volunteers to be available last minute! Overall we spent time with 215 children and their families. Not only did we have a whole range of sports on offer but we were also able to offer Drama, Dance, Skating & Scooting, Stunt Kiting and a massive water slide!! The atmosphere was fantastic and we received much encouragement, support and excellent feedback from parents. Most importantly we ran out of bibles for giving them away to the children and have wonderful stories of children praying to receive Jesus in their hearts and discovering His presence in many areas of their lives.

WSM held their second tournament at the Park and it was a great success. Over 50 participants came and played in 6 teams over the evening. It looked like it was going to be a clear win but at the end of a couple fifteen minute games the points were very close for a couple of teams. Pip n Jay and Gunning for Glory duked it out for their place in the semi final. It was a great tournament with some new winners this week. Pip n’Jay won this time, well done boys.  Our next tournament will be held on Tuesday 26th July at 7pm.

We had such a great day with 20 of our Young Leaders last week, equipping and developing them as sports coaches. The talented teens planned and led us adults in warm ups, coaching sessions, Beat the Coach, and refereeing matches; all of which we thoroughly enjoyed! These YLs are a great asset to GET Sported and will be assisting on the summer Camps - you can expect some highly entertaining Beat the Coach sessions! A big well done to all 20 – they gave us a fantastic day. We saw them grow in confidence and skill and they put their all into the learning. A Brilliant two weeks of 3 day camps with ‘Get Sported’ camps for children in Bath, South Bristol and Frome. Over 200 children were reached and blessed with great coaching, varied activities, lots of fun and an impacting ministry curriculum. Changed lives galore! Significant seed was sown over the two weeks and we had a great time through sport, art and the Word of God.
