Over the bank holiday weekend (4, 5 and 6 May 2013), WSM Bristol was invited to run Football Tournaments for local kids in Horfield, Lockleaze and Southmead areas of the city.
We were blessed to have about 100 kids come and play football over the 3 days, all enjoying playing in competitive matches and meeting other children from around the area.
We were also very blessed with great weather too, praise God. Each day was sunny and dry, with the little rain we had falling on the Saturday morning and scorching sun on the Monday in Southmead.
After the games, children were awarded with prizes and were given free copies of the New Testaments and some Sports tracts to take away with them.
Please continue to pray for all those children and parents we met, that through their involvement in playing football at The Noise and through what they saw, heard and will read that they will have met Jesus. Please pray for the follow up afterwards, that we can further build the relationships we made.
Thank you for all your prayers and support.
A fast and furious high 5s tournament between our 3 mixed teams. Congratulations Team ‘N*Sync’ for your close fought victory – and to newcomer Rachel for winning Player of the Tournament.
Wanna come and join in the fun? Our next Mixed Netball night is 13th June 7-9pm – bring a friend or even a team!
Great time with youth at last night’s Teen Kick Off.
Congratulations to the ‘pink’ team who made an amazing comeback to take the tourney and to ‘Mitch’ who was player of the night because of his skill and particularly his massive effort.
Yahoooo – what a fab day with our Young Leaders!! We had an ace time, and in the sun too! The Young Leaders were designing and leading coaching sessions based on foundational skills of their chosen sport, reflecting on the foundations of their character, learning more about the foundations of faith and demonstrating the roots of mission. We ended with competitive matches in basketball and cricket – one win a piece!! Thank you Young Leaders for a fantastic day together
We enjoyed 2 fantastic Camps with 128 children – really warm, relaxed and nurturing (warm in spirit I mean, not in temperature, quite the opposite!). The special atmosphere was noticed by parents, staff and children, God’s presence was really tangible. We explored 3 character qualities needed to be a ‘Sporting Star’; generosity, compassion and righteousness.
“The Camp was amazing, the only place my children have ever said they can’t wait to go back to” Parent
“GET Sported is what an amazing school would be like if there were no lessons and everyone was really, really kind all the time!” Tabitha
“I loved the wonder of praying along with the children and hearing the feather of whispers around the group as they were taking Jesus into their hearts” Leader
20 Re(Commitments), 30 bible giveaways, 9 sports plus performing arts and chill-out-craft!
